Abhijit Bhatia is the Chief Operating Officer of Rakuten Medical and serves as Chairman of the Board for Medlight, Rakuten Medical Taiwan, and Rakuten Medical India. He oversees global strategy, operations, as well as corporate and business development, finance, and investor relations. With over 25 years of experience in biopharma, Abhijit has led numerous strategic partnerships with large and mid-sized pharmaceutical companies and played a key role in securing more than $700 million in funding for Rakuten Medical.

Prior to joining Rakuten Medical, he held scientific and leadership roles at Amgen, Celgene, and Abraxis Bioscience. Abhijit holds an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cleveland State University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
