Massimo Bertinaria, PhD, is Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Turin, where he leads research activities focused on the design, synthesis, and characterization of biologically active compounds. With more than 25 years of experience in drug discovery, he is the inventor of two patents and the author of 57 scientific publications. Since 2014, his research has focused on the NLRP3 inflammasome and the development of innovative small-molecule inhibitors targeting inflammatory diseases. Since 2025, he is co-founder and CEO of INFLANT, a biotech company dedicated to developing NLRP3 inhibitors for the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD).
