Raun Kupiec is an independent adviser to small and mid-sized biopharmaceutical companies, based in Zürich. His career began in quality assurance in pharmaceutical manufacturing, then moved through regulatory compliance into regulatory affairs and quality leadership at Genzyme, later Sanofi. He went on to lead global regulatory affairs at Vifor Pharma and subsequently sat on the executive leadership team of CSL's Vifor Division, its iron deficiency and nephrology business. Alongside those roles he spent twenty years contributing to the technical frameworks the industry now runs on, through ICH, EFPIA and EMA working groups on electronic submissions, safety reporting and product information. Most recently he represented the European pharmaceutical industry on the ICH Management Committee. A US citizen, he has built and run European operations since 2001, first in the Netherlands and now in Switzerland.
