Tom Edwardson comes from Scotland and obtained his MChem from the University of Edinburgh in 2008. In 2015, he completed a PhD in Chemistry at McGill University with Prof. Hanadi Sleiman, working on oligonucleotide chemistry for self-assembly and cellular delivery of therapeutics. The same year, he moved to ETH Zurich to learn protein engineering as a postdoc under the supervision of Prof. Donald Hilvert. After completing his HFSP postdoctoral fellowship, Tom worked as a senior scientist at ETH Zurich where he co-founded the spin-off Procavea Biotech AG. His scientific contributions are reflected in 20 peer-reviewed publications (>2000 citations), 4 patent applications, various awards and honours. Tom is the inventor of Procavea’s protein cage-based technology and currently serves as Chief Scientific Officer.
