PD Dr. Xinlai Cheng is a chemical biologist and principal investigator at Goethe University Frankfurt, with expertise in targeted protein degradation, chemical biology and translational oncology. His research focuses on developing innovative therapeutic strategies against previously difficult-to-drug disease mechanisms. He is the co-founder and scientific lead of SpliceTACs Bio, an academic spin-out in formation developing first-in-class allosteric degraders of USP39 for biomarker-selected cancers. His work has resulted in peer-reviewed publications, patent applications and externally funded translational research programmes. At SpliceTACs Bio, he leads scientific strategy, preclinical development and the translation of the USP39 degrader programme toward drug-candidate selection and IND-enabling development.
