Frank Witulski is a seasoned leader in pharmaceutical engineering with over 26 years of expertise in process and packaging development, tech transfer, and the commercialization of pharmaceutical products, focusing primarily on Oral Solid Dosage. Currently serving as a Director of Engineering within the Pharmaceutical Commercialization Technology department at Merck, he has spent the last several years at the forefront of manufacturing innovation. Frank led a cross-functional group responsible for commercializing and filing Merck's first fully continuous drug product process. His groundbreaking work in continuous manufacturing includes designing advanced control strategies notably utilizing Residence Time Distribution (RTD) process models for material tracking and diversion. He has interacted with regulators and industry colleagues worldwide as part of efforts to facilitate the spread of continuous manufacturing in the Pharma industry. Frank holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering and frequently presents on the global stage, sharing case studies on the integration of batch and continuous co-existence to enable robust, agile, and customer-demand-driven supply chains.
