Michael Sweeney focuses his practice on public and private capital market transactions, including commercial real estate collateralized loan obligation (CRE CLO), infrastructure collateralized loan obligation (CLO), commercial mortgage-backed securitization (CMBS), and auto loan and lease asset-backed securitization (ABS) transactions. Mike represents issuers, collateral managers, collateral advisers, placement agents, initial purchasers, borrowers, lenders, and asset managers in a broad range of financing transactions, with a particular focus on Rule 144A, Regulation S, and 4(a)(2) private placements. Mike has significant experience structuring and negotiating warehouse and interim financing facilities and other secured lending arrangements, providing counsel across the lifecycle of structured credit transactions — from origination and interim financing through capital markets execution. He also advises on privately negotiated capital markets transactions, including re-securitizations, bespoke asset-backed offerings, and other privately placed structured transactions.

Mike received his J.D. from Cornell Law School and his B.A. from Yale University, where he was a member of the varsity lacrosse team.
