Head of Investment Grade Private Credit at Wellington Management

Emeka leads the firm’s private credit investment activity in private placements, working with portfolio managers, global credit analysts, and other global research resources within the firm to identify and pursue investments. As the private placements effort continues to grow, he is responsible for building the team, developing investment talent, and further integrating Wellington’s research capabilities into this emerging business.

Prior to joining Wellington Management in 2022, Emeka worked as the head of private debt and was responsible for establishing the global infrastructure debt effort at Barings. He led both the private placement and the global infrastructure debt teams and was a member of the Global Private Structured Finance Investment Committee. Before that, he worked in commercial banking at Fleet Bank.

Emeka earned his MBA, MA, and BA from the University of New Haven. Additionally, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.
