David Wilmot is a Founding Partner of Apera responsible investments in the UK and the Nordic region. David joined the Firm in February 2017 and has 42 years of relevant experience. David has extensive experience both of direct lending investment and management of private debt teams.

Prior to Apera, David spent 16 years at Babson Capital Management (“Babson”), where, as Joint Head of European Private Finance, he was responsible for the investment origination, portfolio management, and capital raising activities for several funds and investment mandates. At Babson, David was co-chairman of the European Mezzanine and Private Equity Investment Committee and a member of the Private Finance Investment Committee. David was also centrally involved in developing and managing Babson’s early leveraged loan collateralized loan obligation (“CLO”) investment activities.

Prior to Babson, David spent six years at Société Générale (“SG”), where he was head of the UK Leveraged Finance team and arranged several senior and mezzanine debt transactions in the UK market. Prior to SG, David worked at CIBC in providing mid-market buyout and structured finance.

David holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Banking and Finance from Loughborough University, an MBA from Bayes Business School and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
