Nigel Khoo is the Head of Private Investments at Heyokha Brothers Limited, where he currently directs capital for a Private Equity fund focused on the Energy Transition and large-scale infrastructure across the Asia-Pacific region. With over 25 years of leadership experience in project finance, private equity, and investment banking, Nigel has a proven track record of structuring complex renewable energy deals alongside regional conglomerates and sovereign entities. Highly relevant to the region's energy sovereignty goals, his expertise spans the full economic lifecycle of utility-scale assets—from greenfield development through strategic exit.

Nigel’s background bridges top-tier banking and principal investing. He previously served as CEO of Maybank Private Equity, where he launched a US$500M pan-Asian clean energy fund backed by the IFC and ADB, and as a Partner at Saratoga Capital managing investments for a US$600M AUM fund. His foundational institutional experience includes key leadership roles at Macquarie Capital, UBS Capital, and the Project Finance advisory team at Schroders Singapore. To date, Nigel has executed over US$3B in complex transactions, including securing US$1.3 billion in project financing for one of the largest run-of-river hydro plants in Indonesia and leading the US$188M refinancing and US$360M M&A exit of a large renewable energy project portfolio in Southeast Asia. Most recently, he structured and closed a US$160M mezzanine financing facility for a major Singapore-based energy transition infrastructure platform. Nigel is a qualified ICAEW Chartered Accountant and holds a BA with First Class Honours from the University of Leeds.
