Emilio founded Bluegem in 2006, a European lower mid-market specialist private equity firm investing in real-economy verticals through B2B and B2B2C entry points. Bluegem targets sectors with resilient end-demand and structural tailwinds, working alongside experienced Portfolio Managers and Functional Experts to drive value creation through commercial excellence, digitalisation, international expansion and product innovation.

With c.€1bn raised and managed across multiple economic cycles, Bluegem combines a specialised operating platform with a differentiated ability to identify attractive end-demand trends and translate them into higher-value investment opportunities. Since 2025, Bluegem has had a strategic minority shareholder in Lagfin, the Campari family office.

Prior to founding Bluegem, Emilio spent two years at York Capital Management and more than six years in investment banking/M&A at Merrill Lynch, both in London. He graduated summa cum laude in Economics and Finance from Bocconi University in Milan.
