Federico Canciani founded GTO Partners in 2020 and is the Managing Partner of the Firm. He has overall responsibility for GTO’s strategic development and leads the full investment cycle from origination and execution of acquisitions to portfolio management and exits;

He has over 25 years of relevant experience, having held senior investment roles at Oaktree Capital Management, MatlinPatterson Advisers and Terra Firma Capital Partners. At Oaktree, where he was a Managing Director in the Opportunities strategy, Federico built a strong track record across European private equity and opportunistic investments.

He began his career at Goldman Sachs International in the Investment Banking Division, where he worked on M&A and Corporate Finance transactions;

Federico holds a Laurea degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University, graduating summa cum laude and ranking in the top 1% of his class. He also completed an exchange program at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.
